Kid-o Bilibo Reviews

With any product, it’s always important to hear not only from the manufacturers and sellers, but also straight from the owners’ mouths.    This is particularly true of Bilibo because it’s such an unusual toy.  Hearing what children who already own Bilibo are doing with it and enjoying it (or not) may help you decide if Bilibo is right for your child.

Parents of children with challenges such as autism or ADHD seem to be interested in the possibilities of Bilibo as a unique play opportunity for their children.  If you’re shopping for a child with these special points of view, you may be interested in what these parents have to say about Bilibo.  Other parents, grandparents, friends, and relatives have purchased Bilibo for kids of a wide variety of ages.  Sometimes Bilibo is purchased for a child of one age and then enjoyed by children in the family (or neighborhood) of different ages.  You may be interested in examining these reviews, depending on the age of the child or children you’re shopping for.

Bilibo.net has provided a selection of reviews for your consideration, below.  Keep in mind, however, that this is just a selection.  If you’re looking for even more user reviews of Bilibo, check out the listings on Amazon to hear about even more real-world experiences with the Kid-o Bilibo.

Kid-o Bilibo Owner Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars A few years later, and..
I see that a few other reviewers were bothered that it isn’t more functional as a chair. I agree that it is not the most comfortable of chairs. This does not bother me, however, because it’s design is very well suited to the active and creative use intended.

It’s best use is not as a single self-contained, self explainatory activity (the simple rocking, balancing, or spinning never lasts long around here), but as an accessory to any number of activities and imaginative games. In addition to being the means to some serious dizziness, ours has been a tunnel, a sled, a cave, a chariot, a stool, a mountain, a cradle, and so much more.

There have been times when it was tucked away and unused, but the kids are always excited when they rediscover it and suddenly it returns to being the most cherished and fought over among toys.

I admit to having a few initial doubt- my kids’ interest was short lived when I introduced it as a single straightforward activity. It was as an accessory to all their everyday play that it really started to shine. Now I consider it to be one of my best toy purchases.

5.0 out of 5 stars my daughter loves her bilibo
Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

my daughter has autism and sensory integration issues. i was looking for something that she could spin in that wasn’t too expensive. this works well and she is able to use it for many other things too (as a step stool, to carry her toys around..). its big enough that even i can fit in it, so i know it will last her a while. she is almost 6. i about made myself sick trying it out after it first came, lol. i honestly thought it looked sort of dumb the first time i saw it quite a while back… it wasn’t until we had a need for something like it that i saw the play value. overall, i would definitely recommend this product to my friends (and have!).

5.0 out of 5 stars Hours of fun….literally!!!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I bought these as an alternative to an easter basket for my kids…well I have to say they are a total hit!!! I have a 1 year old, a 3 year old, and a 4 year old, and each one of them love their new toy! My one year old needs a little help spinning in his (of course) but he loves crawling in it, sitting on it, turning it over…and over…and over, watching it rock back and forth, filling it with his blocks and dumping it out, pushing it across the floor, and even trying to hide under it! And, my 3 and 4 year olds literally spent 3 hours in our living room rocking and spinning in these the other day. they have read books in them, watched a movie in them, flipped them over and pretended they were stepping stones, and even used it as a bed for my daughter’s stuffed animals…I was truly amazed by the versatility of these…and the amount of time my kids spend with them…all without any prompting or ideas from me!! It’s like a cardboard box, only more sturdy.

As far as the technical stuff…they are VERY well made. Thick, hard plastic, and I can definitely see them lasting for many, many years…the only way I can forsee them ever breaking or cracking is if they were to be dropped from a cliff or smashed with a sledge hammer…The colors are also great…nice and bold. I purchased the green, blue and pink ones and the colors are pretty close to the pictures here on amazon. The other nice thing about these is that they fit perfectly together for storage.

I would definitely recommend these to other parents with active kids…great open-ended toy!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars so far so good
Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

just got this item. my active 4 year old likes to put her toys in it. my 9 month old likes to balance on it and use it as a drum. from what i can tell so far, a childs creativity is boosted by all the things they can do with this toy. I originally purchased it because it looked sort of like a chair I once had as a child. One small drawback is that when sitting in it, it tends to fall backwards, making sitting in it less desirable.

5.0 out of 5 stars A really great open-ended toy that encourages creativity!

We got one last Christmas for our son who was 13 months at the time. He was a little afraid of it – it was big for him and he didn’t know what to do with it, but our 8-year-old has had a lot of fun figuring out different things he could do with the Bilibo! Now the youngest is 2 and he loves it, too!

Both boys find lots of ways to play with it and it’s fun to watch what they come up with. I’ll make a suggestion once in a while, which then inspires many other ideas and lots of play.

I wish we’d got at least one for each kid, as they start to fight over it. I think they’d play longer & play better together if they each had 1 or 2.

It is very sturdy, withstands a LOT of abuse, and no rough or sharp edges. Get this – it is great! Just be patient if your kid isn’t very interested at first – it doesn’t make noise or light up or DO stuff, but it’ll be the toy they come back to over & over again.

4.0 out of 5 stars I don’t get it

This thing is basically a large salad bowl with a scalloped edge and a few holes in it. It is a favorite in my house and the kids fight over it constantly. It is a chair, a stool, a helmet, a turtle shell, a home for various action figures, etc. I have four kids from 2 to 10 they love it their friends love it. It is a great imaginative outlet. I misclicked on educational this thing really makes their brains work.

4.0 out of 5 stars It has the potential for awesomeness and yet….

I’ll say this for the Bilibo, it’s a sturdy little toy. I can stand on it, and I’m not little, and it barely bends. Having said that, I’m not sure what the hype is about. My daughter was terrified, and I can not stress that enough, of this thing when we first got it (it was a gift). Since it’s been around the house now for a few months, she’s warmed to it a tad, now she’s simply wary. I’m not sure what the deal is, but she’s also afraid of balloons, so…. It seems like it’s certainly got the potential for fun, my mother sure enjoyed wadding up my son (then four months) and rocking him in it, he seemed to be having a good time himself. My two-year-old won’t play with it though, it’s giving her a suspicious vibe I guess, the kindhearted person who shelled out almost $30 for this thing probably should have kept her money, but who knows, maybe my son will like it when he’s older.

Bought one of these last year for my daughter for Christmas. She had a ball with it. My teenage sons had fun with it as well. Unfortunately we had to pass this one on for another family to have fun with because we wanted to share the joy. Really great invention!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Exciting for Five Minutes

We bought this for our 18-month-old, and when he first saw it he was very excited – put it on as a hat, sat in it, put his toys in it. Then after about five minutes, he couldn’t care less. Eventually it became clear it wasn’t going to be anything more than a new bin to keep his toys in when he wasn’t playing with them, so we returned it to amazon. Definitely was not fun for him.
